White marble for Kitchen Countertops

I've seen so many cutting boards,rollers etc. made from white marble-what 
cuddle bunny
is the reason for the lack of reccomondation for it as a countertop? Is it

Marble stains easier and is not as durable as granite, for a  
beast
kitchen countertop. Even if it is sealed, it is recommended for areas

I would guess its not recommended more because there are not  
cookie crisp
many people who would want an all white marble counter top and its a

I have seen kitchens with white marble counter tops and also in bathrooms

and I have to say its not my first choice for the kitchen. It gives the  
room a sterile look especialy if you have stainless steel appliances. For  
me its great as an accent but I could not cook in a kitchen where that was

It is very porous making it high maintenance for a kitchen

countertop. It will take water marks and other stains without proper use
